All Nzuri Gems gemstones are sourced only from mines that adhere to the strictest labor, trade, and environmental standards. We support the Kimberley Process and, in most cases, Nzuri Gem's documented gemstones were sourced directly from the origin country's mine. Buying direct from the source also means we can offer you excellent value without ever compromising on quality or cutting ethical corners.

We are proud to be founded by a Tanzanian-South African American, and our core values align with improving the quality of life in the East African communities where we source our colored gemstones. Our founder's lineage shaped our north star and we are committed to Fair Trade. Generational relationships with miners throughout the Neo-proterozoic Mozambique belt-believed to contain the world’s largest colored stone deposits-allows us to ensure our gemstones are mined sustainably and our mining partners are compensated equitably for their labor. Our priceless relationships allow us to access the finest gemstone discoveries and offer them to you at competitive prices. The Mozambique belt also contains sapphire, ruby, emerald, spinel, alexandrite, tourmaline, zircon, aquamarine, spessartine, rhodolite, and demantoid garnet.
